WHAT HAPPENS TO MY CREDIT CARD WHEN I PLACE AN ORDER ONLINE?
A credit card transaction has two steps:
When you place an order on-line, the full dollar total of your order is "authorized" on your credit card. Authorization is the process of checking for adequate funds in your credit card or bank account. A positive authorization reduces your available balance and reserves the funds for capture. Please note that an authorization does not actually deduct funds from your account.
A "capture" is the process of converting an authorized transaction amount into a transaction that is debited from your credit card or bank account. In effect, a capture is our request to finalize the transaction. We can only capture authorized transactions, and it cannot exceed the authorized amount.
Our general practice is to capture funds only when your order is ready to ship out. Nevertheless, submitting your credit card information to us constitutes order placement. Once an order is placed, we reserve the right to capture funds in full. Given the fact that there is anywhere from a one to ten day lead time on the shipment of some items, this means that we may capture funds in advance of shipping your goods.
Please note that if you check your credit card activity on-line, you will see authorized, but non-captured, transactions on your statement. These transactions will possibly be noted as "Pre-Authorized" or a "POS Purchase". However, some credit card companies do not distinguish between authorized and captured transactions. This being the case, the amount that appears to be debited to your account may in certain circumstances appear on your statement as an amount different from that of the final captured amount.

WHAT IS YOUR PRODUCTION TIME AND SHIPPING TIME?
Many backgrounds are available for immediate shipment. If we must make it, shipping times can vary from one working day to ten working days. Please tell us if you must have your order by a specific date. We will try to accommodate your needs.
Rush service is available for an additional cost. Contact us about rush service.
Most props and accessories are available for immediate shipment.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I RECEIVE DAMAGED GOODS?
If your packages appear damaged, make notice of this before you sign for its receipt or the carrier may not be willing to compensate you later. Studio Dynamics is not responsible for loss or damage caused by the carrier.
Inspect your packages immediately. Complaints of damaged goods should be reported to the carrier immediately upon delivery.
Our backgrounds should not be compared with many on the market which are quickly mass-produced. The finest grade fabric and most expensive paint is used with rigid quality control on all procedures. Our backdrops are handmade and subtle variations will exist. Each background can be customized to your exact specification, if desired. Each backdrop is a true work of art, individually hand-crafted.
EXCHANGES AND RETURNS:
Any claims for adjustments must be made within 14 days of the receipt of your order.
A return authorization number is required before returning any merchandise. You must call our office for authorization. Anything that is accepted for an exchange or refund must be in its original condition. Restocking charges of up to 20% may apply. There are no refunds, exchanges or returns allowed on custom orders. Freight charges are not refundable.
If your backdrop needs to be modified because it may be too light or too dark due to the way you light it, we will provide the rework at no cost to you as long as the you notify us within 14 days. The freight charges for this are the responsibility of the customer. A word about color and backdrops: Not all monitors reproduce colors accurately. Your lighting, lab and printing will affect the color of the backdrop in your images.
